Fire Marshal’s office: 2 dead in Summers County blaze

SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. — A Sunday morning fire that left two people dead was under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office.

The identities of those killed and the circumstances surrounding the fire were not immediately available.

Emergency officials with the Summers County 911 Center would confirm only that three fire departments responded to a structure fire after 3 a.m. Sunday on Tug Creek Mountain Road, a rural part of Summers County located near Hinton.

Deputies with the Summers County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia state police were also part of the investigation.
