WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia Division of Tourism unveiled its 2015 Travel Guide during a ceremony at the I-77 Welcome Center in Williamstown Wednesday.
The guide’s cover features whitewater rafting. Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau President Mark Lewis liked what he saw.
“I think the cover is a great attention getter and really draws you into the piece,” Lewis said.
Gasoline prices are hovering around $2.00 a gallon and Lewis predicted a good 2015 for West Virginia tourism because of it.
“We’re primarily a ‘drive to’ destination–so that can help,” he said. “Tourism is really speaking with one voice.”
Lewis said the official state Travel Guide is a great asset.
“It’s a primary piece that has always worked for us because it brings all of the great offerings that we have in West Virginia in one spot,” Lewis said.
