Henry among 4 Mountaineers freshmen cited for marijuana possession

Freshman safety Dravon Henry, shown scoring on an interception return during West Virginia’s 34-10 win at Oklahoma State, was cited for marijuana possession this week.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Standout safety Dravon Henry, a 13-game starter last season, was among four West Virginia freshmen football players cited for marijuana possession inside a campus residence hall Tuesday night.

Linebacker Xavier Preston, who appeared in nine games, also was cited, along with two players who redshirted—offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste and defensive lineman Jaleel Fields.

Henry and Fields are 19 years old, according to the citations, while Preston and Cajuste are 18. They allegedly were found with marijuana inside a room at Lincoln Hall.

West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen said the matter would be handled internally.

Marijuana possession is a misdemeanor in West Virginia, where first-time offenders typically can have the charges dismissed by completing a six-month probationary period that may include community service, drug treatment or other terms set by a judge.
