Freezing rain causes interstate shutdown

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A section of Interstate 64 in Huntington had to be closed late Thursday morning after freezing rain created hazardous driving conditions.

There were several wrecks including a rollover near the Hal Greer Blvd. exit.

Another problem spot was on Interstate 79 near the Elkview exit in Kanawha County where a rollover wreck was reported.

There were also wrecks in Lincoln, Putnam and Mason counties.

Temperatures were expected to warm into the 40s Thursday afternoon with the freezing rain turning to all rain.
