RUSTON, La. — Louisiana Tech seized control with 22-4 run that spanned both both halves and blistered Marshall 81-57 on Saturday.
Erik McCree’s 14 points and Kenneth Smith’s 12-point, 12-assist double-double highlighted the win for the Bulldogs (17-5, 8-1), who are tied atop Conference USA with Western Kentucky.
Marshall (6-16, 2-7), which remains at the other end of the league standings, committed 23 turnovers and shot 32 percent. Ryan Taylor paced the Thundering Herd with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Justin Edmonds scored 17.
Michael Kysrer added 12 points, as did Raheem Appleby for Louisiana Tech, which won its third straight.
Marshall had won back-to-back games for the first time in more than two months but unraveled with 23 turnovers.
