Minor damage in Bridgeport hotel fire

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — A Bridgeport hotel sustained minor damage Thursday afternoon in a structure fire believed to be caused by an electrical problem.

Firefighters from Bridgeport attacked the blaze at Comfort Suites from the roof after arriving on the scene at about 2:30.

There were no injuries reported. Hotel guests and workers were evacuated for a brief time.

Fire investigators said one room at the hotel, located on White Oaks Blvd., sustained smoke damage.
