Police have unnamed suspect after church leader killed in Beckley

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Beckley police confirmed they have a suspect in the murder of a Raleigh County pastor killed in his home Saturday.

Investigators said pastor Ronald Browning, 68, was attacked at his Odessa Avenue residence in Beckley.

No murder arrest had been made as of early Monday morning and Beckley police were not releasing the suspect’s name.

Browning was the pastor at Cool Ridge Community Church.

WVVA Television was reporting a woman, identified as Camille Brown, 19, was being held in the Southern Regional Jail on charges of breaking and entering and disorderly conduct. She was arrested on Saturday night near the murder scene.

According to the criminal complaint filed against her, she was covered in blood when she was found.
