UC Pharmacy School Regains Accreditation

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A national accreditation agency says the University of Charleston’s School of Pharmacy has made significant improvements and has earned full accreditation.

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education had previously placed the UC school on probation and cited several improvements that needed to be made. UC President Ed Welch said they did what they had to do.

“This affirmation of full accreditation is due to the hard work of many people in upgrading policies, strengthening institutional relationships, and adding seven faculty and administrative members to the School,” Welch said in a prepared statement. “Thanks are due to Dean Michelle Easton, Provost Letha Zook, the faculty and staff of the School as well as many others in the University. This is a wonderfully positive affirmation of the School and of the learning experiences it provides to each and every pharmacy student.”

The UC School of Pharmacy opened in 2006.
