Herd announces addition to football staff

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Marshall has officially announced the addition of Todd Goebbel as the program’s new recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach.

Goebbel, who spent five seasons as Marshall’s receivers coach from 2005 to 2009, has served as the assistant head/offensive coordinator at Ohio Dominican University for the last five years.

“We are happy to welcome Todd back to Marshall,” coach Doc Holliday said in a statement. “He has tremendous experience on the offensive side of the ball and in recruiting. He certainly knows what it means to be a part of this program and the Huntington community.”

Dominican finished the 2014 season 11-2 and made an appearance in the NCAA Regional Final and was ranked fourth in the country by both the American Coaches Association and D2Football.com polls.

Prior to joining Marshall’s staff in 2005, Goebbel spent one season as the defensive quality control coach at Ohio State University.

Goebbel attended Kent State University where he was the Golden Flashes starting quarterback for three seasons before transferring to Northern Iowa in 1998.
