Ohio sex offender arrested in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – US Marshals and West Virginia State Police arrested an Ohio man for failing to register as a sex offender.

Authorities in Lorrain County, Ohio had issued a warrant for the arrest of Richard Lee Doman, 46, in December.

He was in contempt of court and had not met the terms of his sex offender registration in Ohio.

West Virginia authorities arrested Doman at noon Wednesday, Feb. 17 near a Morgantown hospital without incident.

According to the US Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, Damon had been convicted of Statutory Assault and Indecent Assault in July 2003 in York County, Pennsylvania.

As part of his conviction, Doman was required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Doman will face extradition to Ohio.

He was being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
