State Police suspect foul play in Raleigh County death

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. — State Police said it will take time to identify the skeletal remains found in Raleigh County, near Eccles, last week.

Early on, though, troopers indicated they do believe foul play was involved in the person’s death.

The remains were discovered last Friday, Feb. 13 along Upper Sandlick Road, collected and sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for confirmation the remains were those of a human.

Anonymous tips about the death can be called into the West Virginia State Police Detachment in Beckley at 304-256-6700.
