One charged in a Morgantown attempted robbery

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Store clerks are able to identify the man they say tried to rob them early Thursday morning leading to a quick arrest and pending charges within an hour.

They told Morgantown police a man entered the Shell Station on University Avenue at 1:06 am, said he had a gun and demanded money.

A short time later, police arrested David DeBerry, of Reedsville, near the Westover Bridge.

Police say employees identified DeBerry as the suspect.

DeBerry has been charged with attempted robbery of the first degree.
