One killed in U.S. Route 60 wreck

JEFFERSON, W.Va. — A person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 60 in Kanawha County on Wednesday afternoon.

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department investigators said the driver of a car crossed the turn lane into the path of a sheriff’s K-9 truck. The driver of the passenger car died, and a deputy was hurt in the crash.

The wreck occurred around 5 p.m.
