CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A day after flooding rains left West Virginia a muddy mess, mother nature covered it with 4 to 8 inches of snow.

Winter storm “Thor” as it’s being called, brought heavy, wet snow that made for great pictures, but also brought havoc on travelers and power lines. Thousands of outages were reported across the state Thursday morning and every county school, as well as WVU and Marshall, cancelled classes for the day.
