Two arrested for possession of heroin in Harrison County

NUTTER FORT, W. Va. — Two individuals were arrested early Sunday morning during a drug bust in Harrison County.

Heroin and other items seized during the bust on Jarrett Moran and Jacob Hardy

Jarrett Aaron Moran aka “G,” 20, of McKees Rock, Pennsylvania and Jacob Joseph Hardy, 32, of Nutter Fort, were apprehended by the Nutter Fort Police Department and the Harrison County Street Crimes and Drug Unit.

The agencies received information that Moran and Hardy were traveling to McKees Rock, purchasing heroin, and then returning to sell it.

SCAD and Nutter Fort officers began a surveillance on I-79, U.S. Rt. 20, and Hardy’s residence in Nutter Fort and around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, a traffic stop was executed on Ohio Avenue with Hardy and Moran in the vehicle.

The two did not stop at first, continuing to drive a short distance to an alleyway near Hardy’s residence. When officers approached Hardy’s vehicle and had Hardy and Moran exit, the officers observed a pistol on the backseat floor and found a 15 stamps of heroin in Moran’s pockets.

SCAD deputies then obtained and executed a search warrant for Hardy’s vehicle, locating an additional 570 stamps of heroin worth approximately $11,000 in street value in a plastic bag where Moran was seated.

Hardy and Moran are charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, interstate transportation of heroin with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute heroin, all felonies. Both men were transported to the North Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
