Two Morgantown residents sentenced in federal court for illegal distribution of drugs

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Two Monongalia County residents admitted their involvement in the illegal distribution of drugs Wednesday in federal court.

Brett Ehrhardt, 29, and Loren Delaney, 23, both of Morgantown, were convicted in for prescription painkiller trafficking in Monongolia County.

An investigation by the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the FBI and the Mon Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force revealed that the two were involved in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Morgantown heroin and prescription painkiller distribution operation.

Ehrhardt admitted to selling oxycodone near West Virginia University when he pleaded guilty to one count of Distribution of Oxycodone within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location. He faces between one and 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000,000.

Delaney, also known as “Lo,” pleaded guilty to one count of Aiding and Abetting the Distribution of Oxycodone. She faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull presided Wednesday.
