Alleged synthetic marijuana dealer arrested in Wyoming County

OCEANA, W.Va. — A Logan County man is in jail after police executed a search warrant at his business in Wyoming County Thursday.

Members of the Southern Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department raided Hillbilly Discount in Oceana and found 400 bottles of suspected synthetic marijuana, cash and guns.

Police arrested store owner Ron Cook, 75, of Omar and charged him with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance. He’s in jail on $150,000 bail.

Investigators allege many residents in the area have gotten sick and had to be hospitalized from the synthetic marijuana sold at the store.

Police began the investigation last year after receiving numerous complaints from parents and area citizens.
