Guilty pleas in sex-robbery scheme

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Two men and a woman pleaded guilty Monday in Kanawha County Circuit Court in connection with scheme to lure men to a South Charleston residence in order to rob them.

The Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office said Brandon Bandy, 20, and Zachary Harrison, 22, both of Charleston, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and Cortney Cain, 20, of Anmoore, pleaded guilty to conspiracy.

Police said Cain, through online messages, invited victim Chris Keller to a residence on Elm Street in South Charleston last June 16 to have sex. Once he was there, Bandy and Harrison stole his cell phone, watch and pocket knife.

Bandy and Harrison face at least 10 years in prison, Cain faces up to a year behind bars. All are scheduled to be sentenced by Kanawha County Circuit Judge Charles King May 21.
