Man fatally hit by a car in Cabell County

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A man was killed early Sunday morning after being hit by a car while walking along a road in Cabell County.

Cabell County Sherriff Tom McComas said the man was hit just before 5 a.m. while walking on Green Valley Road just off of Route 10 near Huntington.

The victim was already dead when first responders arrived at the scene. After viewing surveillance video in the area, investigators said the man appeared to be walking alone.

The driver stayed on the scene. Dispatchers said no charges will be filed and that the incident remains under investigation. The victim’s name has not been released.
