One man dead after one vehicle accident in Ohio County

WHEELING, W.Va. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department responded to a fatal car accident Sunday afternoon in Wheeling.

Pat Butler, the Ohio County Sherriff, said a 43-year-old man was killed after a one-vehicle crash happened just after 12 p.m. on Short Creek Road.

The man’s father was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

Butler said speed may have been a factor in the crash, but it is still under investigation.

The Wheeling Police Department Scene Recreation Team was also on the scene to assist in the accident. The victims’ names have not been released.
