Silver Alert issued for missing Harrison County man

MEADOWBROOK, W. Va. — Authorities in Harrison County have issued a Silver Alert as part of the search for a man who has not been seen since he left his home over the weekend.

Barry Michael Wedgle, 61, is described as 5’6″, with blue eyes and shoulder-length hair. He was typically wears glasses and was last seen wearing a long gray leather jacket and carrying a cane.

According to officers with the Shinnston detachment of the State Police and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, Wedgle went for a walk from his 1077 Aaron Smith Drive residence in Meadowbrook at around 6 p.m. Saturday and has not been heard from since.

Authorities have not determined a cause for his disappearance, but noted he suffers from depression.

Anyone with information regarding Wedgle’s whereabouts is asked to call the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department at 304-623-6555 or any State Police detachment.
