Kanawha County police investigate Monday morning robbery

JEFFERSON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County motorist says he was robbed early Monday morning in the Jefferson area.

Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies are investigating. The motorist said a man waved him down on Kanawha Terrace near Weimer Elementary at 2:45 a.m. He said he stopped to help the man but he jumped into the backseat of his car and held a handgun to his head. He robbed him of several items including his wallet and gun. He was was struck in the back of the head with the gun.

Deputies are looking for a white man in his late 20s. He had on blue jeans and a gray shirt.
