2 dead as accident closes I-68 in Monongalia County

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A crash on Interstate 68 in Monongalia County killed two people and shut down a four-mile section of the road for six hours, the Dominion Post reported.

According to 911 operators, all lanes re-opened about 4 a.m.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the accident that happened near the 3-mile marker about 10:30 p.m. Reports indicated one of the vehicles involved was headed the wrong way on the Interstate.

At least two vehicles were reportedly involved in the crash.
