Two sentenced for Detroit to Morgantown painkiller distribution

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A federal judge orders two men convicted in a three-state drug ring to prison.

Ranad Jamal Straughter, 27, of Westland, Mich., and Andrew W. Bolyard, 23, of Morgantown, W.Va. pleaded guilty in December 2014 to a charge of aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute oxycodone.

A Mon Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force investigation uncovered the transport of prescription painkillers from Detroit, Mich. to Pittsburgh, Pa. to Morgantown for redistribution and sale.

U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keely sentenced Bolyard to six years in prison.

Straughter was sentenced 2 years in prison.
