Victims identified in fatal Monongalia County accident

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — State police have released the identities of two people involved in a deadly accident on Grafton Road near Morgantown Tuesday morning.

Troopers said Preston County man was killed when his car crossed the center line just south of the Hornbeck Road intersection and struck a flatbed truck traveling north.

According to Corporal T. W. Goodnight, Stevie Nickels, 21 of Arthurdale, was pronounced dead at the scene and Charles Homer, 73 of Canonsburg, Pa., was treated and released from Ruby Memorial Hospital for injuries from the wreck.

U.S. Route 119 was closed for more than an hour and a half after that accident.

The accident happened at about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday.
