MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–The interim dean of the West Virginia University College of Law was awarded the position full-time Thursday after a lengthy national search.
Greg Bowman served as the interim dean since last June, and will become the permanent dean on Friday. He will succeed Joyce McConnell, who left the position to become the WVU provost. McConnell said that he was Bowman’s colleague for years, and that he rose to the top of the pool of candidates.
Bowman has been on the WVU faculty since 2009, and has served as an associate dean of academic affairs. In 2011 he was named the law school professor of the year.
He said in a statement that he was proud of the law program at WVU and was excited to lead the college in the future.
