South Charleston man killed after being struck by vehicle

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car in the 4400 block of MacCorkle Avenue on Monday night.

The man was unresponsive when first responders arrived, Metro 911 dispatchers said.

The driver of the car told WSAZ-TV that the man ran into the street and was wearing dark clothes.

The westbound lanes in the area were closed and traffic was being directed through the turn lane.
