MONTGOMERY, W.Va.
— Two buildings were destroyed and a third sustained major damage during a Sunday night fire at an apartment complex.

Several fire crews from Fayette and Kanawha counties coordinated on the scene, with large ladder trucks used to battle the flames and pluck a few tenants from higher floors.

There were no injuries reported, and all residents were believed accounted for, according to local law agencies.

As of 11 p.m., more than three hours after the fire began, the Montgomery fire chief told WSAZ-TV two buildings had been destroyed and firefighters were trying to save a third building.

Appalachian Power turned off service in the immediate area of the blaze, which occurred on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Lee Street.
