DOH announces construction of Huntington bridge

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia DOH awarded a contract to Eagle Industrial Painting of Magnolia, Ohio Wednesday to perform cleaning and painting of the 31st Street Bridge and access ramp bridges in Huntington and Proctorville, Ohio.

The construction will get underway May 15 and will result in the bridge being reduced to one lane. A temporary traffic signal will be used to alternate northbound and southbound traffic. The changes will take effect by the end of May. The DOH has advised commutors to expect delays and use detour routes whenever possible.

The project will cost slightly more than $3.5 million and should be completed by November.
