Lawmaker pleads no contest to DUI charge

WELCH, W.Va. — A member of the House of Delegates pleaded no contest Tuesday to first offense DUI.

Del. Clif Moore (D-McDowell) entered his plea before a McDowell County magistrate in Welch. He was arrested last May after a state trooper observed him swerving as he drove on U.S. Route 52.

Moore, 66, was sentenced Tuesday to time served and court costs.

The six-term delegate was arrested for DUI in Columbus, Ohio while visiting family in 2011. He was also charged with driving on a revoked license in 2012.
