Kanawha County Prosecutor Miller to run in 2016

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Kanawha County Prosecutor Charles Miller filed pre-candidacy papers with the county clerk Tuesday, announcing his intent to run for the position in 2016.

Miller was appointed last November after the resignation of Mark Plants. He said in a statement that he had considered the idea since taking over.

“When I was appointed Prosecuting Attorney in November, 2014, I indicated I would run for the office in 2016. I intend to keep that promise,” Miller said. “The citizens of Kanawha County need an experienced, professional in what I consider one of the most important elected positions in the county.”

Miller has practiced law for 38 years, and at one point was a U.S. Attorney.
