Huntington detectives rule out homicide in death near Harris Riverfront Park

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Police Chief Joe Ciccarelli says a death Wednesday near Harris Riverfront Park was the result of a suicide.

A man’s body was found hanging from a tree a few hundred feet east of the park at shortly after 7 a.m.. The chief said boats had to be used to get first responders and detectives to the scene.

“There was evidence at the scene to suggest the individual took his own life,” Ciccarelli told MetroNews.
