2 dead after tree falls on vehicle in Upshur County

TALLMANSVILLE, W.Va. — Two Webster County men died after a tree fell on their vehicle early Wednesday morning in Upshur County.

Timothy Cogar, 28, and Robert Wisner, 58, both of Webster Springs, were pronounced dead at the scene along Tallmansville Road near the Ten Mile Road intersection.

According to a news release from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, investigators found that at approximately 2 a.m., a tree fell on the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer Cogar was driving westbound.

Investigation into the accident was led by the Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the Washington District Fire Department, the Buckhannon Fire Department and Ellamore Fire Department and the Upshur County EMS.
