CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Public Service Commission has scheduled eight public hearings to get comments from customers about a $12.2 million rate hike request from Mountaineer Gas.
The hearings, which began Monday, are scheduled for Huntington, Beckley, Wheeling and Charleston through July 14. The PSC has a three-day evidentiary hearing scheduled for July 15-17 in Charleston.
Mountaineer’s request would increase an average customer’s bill by 4.7 percent. The natural gas company serves 221,000 customers in 49 of the state’s 55 counties.
The public hearing schedule includes:
