LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. — State Police are investigating the cause of a single-vehicle crash that left two dead Tuesday night.
According to troopers with the Weston detachment, the vehicle was traveling north along Oil Creek Road roughly 7.8 miles from U.S. 19 at approximately 6:45 p.m. when the accident happened.
The driver of the 2004 Ford Explorer lost control, left the road and crashed into nearby trees. The vehicle then caught fire.
Speed is being indicated as a major factor in the accident.
On Wednesday, Troopers identified the passenger who died as Brady Myers, 28, of Orlando. The identity of the driver is not being released at this time.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
