Shaq whiffs on first tee at Greenbrier pro-am

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Shaquille O’Neal has been killing it as a studio analyst since retiring from NBA. From the looks of things, he hasn’t taken up golf.

The four-time NBA champion endured an interesting first hole at the Greenbrier Classic pro-am Wednesday. Just watch his antics on the No. 1 tee box above.

Before addressing the ball, Shaq joked that his golf game was awful, but better than Charles Barkley’s. (After seeing this swing sequence, it’s a good thing Shaq didn’t say that under oath.)

In his defense, a Greenbrier staffer said Shaq arrived at the Old White Course without clubs. And when he attempted to rent a set, the pro shop only had one-inch extensions, whereas Shaq required the five-inch variety.

At least Shaq gave the gallery a show. He also probably gave the course superintendent a lengthy to-do list.
