Deadly I-64 crash under investigation in Greenbrier County

GREENBRIER COUNTY, W.Va. — A Monday morning vehicle accident on Interstate 64 in Greenbrier County claimed the life of one person, according to emergency officials.

The vehicle the unidentified person was in was the only car involved in the crash that happened along I-64 between Lewisburg and Alta around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Early reports indicated the vehicle had originally been traveling east before rolling multiple times through the median onto the westbound highway shoulder.

Deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department were continuing the investigation on Monday.

Lewisburg Police and State Police also responded to the scene.
