One man dead after Friday house fire in Lewis County

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. — A man injured in a Lewis County house fire on Friday passed away on Saturday according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

One woman remains in critical condition at the West Penn Burn Center in Pittsburgh.

The fire is considered accidental at this time, but the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Multiple crews were called to the scene along Right Freeman’s Creek Road at approximately 6:35 a.m., according to the Jackson’s Mill Volunteer Fire Department.

The home is considered a total loss, and the investigation is ongoing.
