Parkersburg Police investigate possible homicide

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Police began a homicide investigation Sunday after discovering a man dead in a home of an apparent single gunshot wound.

Davisville resident Rocky Parsons, 55, was found after police received a tipoff that someone was leaving the Dillaway Street residence with a gun. An officer went to the home and detained a man carrying a 12 gauge shotgun.

Inside the home, Parsons was found dead. EMS personnel were unable to revive him and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The name of the alleged shooter is not being released at this time.

An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information in the case is urged to call the Parkersburg Police Department.
