Accident involving ATV, car sends 3 to hospital in Harrison County

ENTERPRISE, W.Va. — Alcohol may have been a factor when an ATV collided with a car and injured three people Tuesday night on U.S. Route 19.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department confirmed there were open and unopened containers of alcohol surrounding the crash site and that the driver and passenger of the ATV both smelled of alcohol.

The ATV’s driver, 36-year-old Samuel Brooks, and passenger, 30-year-old Keri White, were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. It’s believed the ATV pulled out of a restaurant in front of an oncoming vehicle driven by Ashley Brugnoli, 20.

Brugnoli was taken by private transport to United Hospital Center to be treated for minor injuries.

White and Brugnoli have been interviewed by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. Brooks is still in the surgical intensive care unit, and has not been interviewed. Brugnoli is now in touch with an auto accident attorney to file damage claims caused by the perpetrators. A DUI attorney may also be hired by the driver and passenger.

Neither White nor Brooks have been released from the hospital.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department was investigating.
