ONA, W.Va. — Cabell Midland rising senior defensive lineman, and WVU commit, Reese Donahue has been has been selected to play in the 2016 Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in Tampa Bay on January 9.
Blue-Grey Football was established in 1989, now hosting close to 20 Regional Combines and four Super Combines at venues around the country. Blue-Grey puts on two All-American games, including an East-West matchup at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The second showdown features the North and South from Raymond James Stadium (which Donahue will participate in), home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Donahue committed to WVU this past winter after receiving an offer from the Mountaineers during a recruiting visit.
The senior ended last year at 6-foot-5, 237 pounds. The West Virginia coaching staff projected him to stay at defensive end in college.
“They want me to be about 260 at West Virginia,” Donahue said. “My goal for the beginning of my senior year is about 245-250. I’m already progressing and on the right track. Coach Holgorsen did want to make sure that if I didn’t gain enough weight to play at defense end, they could use me in a tight end role instead.”
