Berkeley wreck kills 2; woman charged with DUI causing death

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. — A woman was charged with causing a two-car crash Saturday that left two people dead in southern Berkeley County.

The wreck occurred around 3 a.m. Saturday on Winchester Avenue in Bunker Hill, state police said. Troopers and South Berkeley firefighters arrived to find one of the two vehicles on fire.

Investigators were told three people had fled the scene, state police said.

Clairesse Felipe, age and city unknown, was later arrested at the Inwood 7-Eleven, several miles from the crash scene. She was charged with DUI resulting in death, failure to maintain control, failure to render aid and obstructing an officer.

The names of the victims had not been released as of Sunday morning.
