Camden Clark Medical Center in early stage of renovations

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Camden Clark Medical Center’s $20 million renovation project is underway.

The complex will be adding a new emergency room to the south tower of the Parkersburg-based hospital’s main campus. After the construction the new emergency department will be much bigger and surgical units will be much closer.

“It’s not only going to be an attractive addition to the hospital but the way the patients flow is set up and the support services is really going to be a benefit for the emergency patients not only handling larger volumes but in a more efficient timely manner,” Camden Clark director of marketing and public affairs Tim Brunicardi said. This expansion will be a great benefit to the community.”

Brunicardi said the hospital is a busy place because patients come from all over the area.

“There’s several counties that we attract patients from,” he said. “We go down as far as Jackson County in West Virginia and because we’re on the borders we pull from counties in Ohio as well.”

He said the project is bigger than what the hospital is used to and would add a lot to the facility.

“We had added a South Tower to our hospital several years ago, but it was about a $10 million project so this one is quite a bit more,” Brunicardi said. “It really adds quite a bit of new services; it’s much more modern and up to date.”

This project is expected to be completed in 12-18 months.
