Brooke County jury shows convicted killer no mercy

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — A jury showed no mercy on Monday toward convicted murderer Rocco Zuccaro, recommending that he never become eligible for parole.

Zuccaro was convicted last week in the Feb. 2013 murder of his friend Jason Pratz in his McKinleyville home. The crime carries a life sentence, but the jury had to decide on a plea for mercy.

Sentencing for Zuccaro is scheduled for Sept. 1. He is expected to formally be sentenced then to life in prison without parole.
