Bluefield man charged in murder of North Carolina clerk

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — A Bluefield man was charged with in the alleged murder Tuesday of a store clerk in Davidson County, N.C.

Donald Greene, 48, allegedly robbed the store and shot the clerk, Sajjad Nawaz to death. Police say Greene robbed Nawaz and stole his Lexus SUV.

The vehicle was eventually recovered at a church in Welcome, N.C.

Greene was arrested at a hotel and charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, and motor vehicle theft.
