Suspicious death in Marion County considered homicide

MANNINGTON, W.Va.— Marion County detectives have officially confirmed they are looking for a murder suspect in what was a suspicious death investigation.

Howard Russell Wright, 81, of Mannington, was killed in his Curtisville Road home June 26.

Wright was discovered inside the home when investigators arrived.  An initial call came in for a structure fire.

There had been a fire at the location by the time Detective Chip Phillips said officials arrived on the scene.

Tuesday morning, Phillips said they are not considering the fire arson and few other details can be released as the investigation is ongoing.
