Webster County Memorial Hospital awarded crisis grant funding

WEBSTER SPRINGS, W.Va. — Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced Thursday that $50,000 was awarded in crisis grant funding to Webster County Memorial Hospital for repairs from severe flooding damages earlier this month.

“This emergency funding through the Rural Health Systems Program gives us the opportunity to ensure our rural communities continue to have access to the healthcare services they need without interrupting the continuum of care the patients in this community deserve,” Tomblin said.

The Rural Health Systems Program was passed by the state legislature in 1996. Since its inception, it has awarded grants totaling more than $6 million.

The basement of the hospital, including the kitchen area, sustained the most damage in the several feet of flooding.
