Child dies in Berkeley Co. ATV wreck

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. – A Berkeley County girl is dead after the ATV she was riding crashed into a telephone pole last week.

The girl, identified as Elyssa Marie Kimpel-Watkins, 12, of Kearneysville, lost control of the vehicle while riding late Thursday night.

She was taken to Winchester Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after noon on Friday.

The accident occurred in the Bunker Hill area, a few miles from the West Virginia and Virginia border.
