2 dead in 2-vehicle crash in Roane County

NEWTON, W.Va. — A two-vehicle crash killed two people Thursday night along Amma Road in Roane County close to the Kanawha County line.

Both the Newton and Clendenin fire departments responded to the crash. One of the vehicles was an SUV.

An undisclosed number of people were transported to a hospital. Medical examiners said both victims who died were in the SUV which caught fire.

The names of those involved and the extent of the injuries have not yet been released.
