Police identify man trapped for nearly a day after wreck in Harrison County

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Police have identified the man who wreck his vehicle in Harrison County early Thursday morning and wasn’t found until that night.

Lloyd Dodd, 30, of Wilsonburg, is said to be in critical condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Police believe Dodd was travelling along Limestone Run Road sometime just after midnight Thursday morning when he ran off the road, went over an embankment and then down a hill.

It was not until a passerby happened to look over the hill and find the car sometime just before 8 p.m. that emergency crews were able to extract him and transport him to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
